Built upon the widely deployed WhatsUp Gold product family, v12.0 provides 20 new features and increased functionality for network managers and administrators to not only proactively and preemptively manage their networks, but also benefit from 360 degree visibility, actionable intelligence and complete control. New features in v12.0 include the following highlights:
- Split Second Graphs (SSG) and InstantInfo
- SSG allows users to customize and add true real-time data graphs, gauges or task manager graph formats into any workspace view to provide instantaneous updates for monitored devices.
- InstantInfo provides users the ability to view device usage data in real time by simply hovering the cursor over device links (e.g. hard drive names or network interfaces) to view real-time data.
- Enhanced SNMP Tools
- WhatsUp MIB Manager - you can view all MIBs in the WhatsUp Gold database as well as import and automatically validate MIB files.
- WhatsUp MIB Explorer - enables you to browse for SNMP objects in MIB files based upon search terms.
- WhatsUp MIB Walker - MIB tree walk and ID selection allows you to browse for SNMP objects directly on a device or system.

MyIpswitch.com, our brand new customer portal, has just been released!
This comprehensive site allows customers to manage their product licenses in one centralized location. Customers will be able to register their products and services, activate licenses, find out how many licenses they own, as well as purchase services and upgrades, or find their preferred reseller to make the purchase. In addition, customers can reach help and support, and access the download center to locate or obtain copies of all your licensed software.
To get started, visit http://www.MyIpswitch.com. To create your account, click on the "Would you like an account?" link. Enter your email address and your password will immediately be emailed to you. Once received, log in to your MyIpswitch.com account and click on "My Downloads" to download WhatsUp Gold v12!

TIPS AND TRICKS |

SMS Direct
WhatsUp Gold v12 users can send an alert to a pager or cell phone via SMS
modem by following these easy steps:
1. From the main menu bar of the console, select Configure > Action Library.
2. In the Action Library, click New, then select SMS Direct.
3. Enter the cell phone or pager number(s) of the intended SMS message
recipients. You can enter multiple phone numbers, separated by a comma. For
example: 555-555-5555, 55 555 55 55 55.
4. Select the COM port you want to use with this notification. (You must
select the port that is assigned to the modem in the Windows Device
Manager.)
5. Enter the text message you want to send with this notification plus any
desired percent variable codes. (Click OK to save this action.) The action
will now appear in the Action Library.
