WhatsUp® Gold Training

The Get Started with WhatsUp Gold Administration course introduces Progress WhatsUp Gold for administrators. This course provides a foundation for network administrators and IT operations professionals to be able to configure, discover, and manage their networks. Students will also learn about the basic functionality included with WhatsUp Gold for monitoring their network, creating actions and alerts in response to device conditions, and generating reports based on their network. 

It is available in a private live on-line lecture based class taught by an experienced instructor who is available for custom questions during the session. It is also available as an e-learning course delivered in an on-demand format. In the e-learning option, course materials are available 24/7 and with full access to the resources for a year.

Power User training is a capstone course designed for experienced WhatsUp Gold administrators looking to optimize the power of their deployment. If you are interested in developing new skills, enhancing your current expertise, and becoming a WhatsUp Gold power user, this virtual, labintensive course will leverage and extend your product knowledge with hands-on training and best practices applications.

For WhatsUp Gold administrators on the academic track, Power User Training is the final course offered to prepare you for the WhatsUp Gold certification test.

This live, virtual course features one day of intensive instruction and hands on activates with an additional half day of instructor facilitated workshop. Hands-on lab exercises, the class curriculum and workshop time gives students with the opportunity to introduce real-life examples of issues and challenges for discussion and resolution.

Upon completion of this course, the student will be:

• Proficient on advanced topics concerning the essential components of WhatsUp Gold
• Able to immediately apply the training, adopt best practices and better optimize their WhatsUp Gold implementation
• Able to proactively monitor, identify, and resolve issues before they become end-user problems.

Who Should Attend

This course is designed for those who have one to two years of WhatsUp Gold experience, a working knowledge of network/server administration or who have completed the Getting Started and Power Boost courses.

WhatsUp Gold Intensive Training is a live, virtual, three consecutive-day session. Studends access hands-on lab exercises using Amazon Web Services via Remote Desktop from their own location. An alternative learning choice to the combination of “Getting Started,” and “Power Boost,” courses, this three-day course covers WhatsUp Gold and add-on modules and:

• Provides the practical knowledge and problem-solving skills needed to carry out your most important network management tasks
• Features a series of stimulating and challenging hands-on lab exercises
• Is the final course offered to prepare you for the WhatsUp Gold certification test.

Upon successful completion of this course, you will be ready to adopt best practices to manage your WhatsUp Gold installation using the Virtual, Cloud Monitoring, Network Traffic Analysis and Configuration Management tools. You will also have gained the skill required to:

• Troubleshoot network and systems performance issues
• Manage user accounts and security using third-party authentication systems such as Active Directory®
• Proactively monitor, identify, and resolve issues before they become end-user problems.
